GeekBye Free Plan: How the 30-Minute Monthly Allowance Works
Starter includes 30 minutes of Listen audio per month. The allowance is checked when a session starts; an active session continues. Here are the current limits, study context and Pro options.
What the Starter plan includes
GeekBye Starter includes 30 minutes of Listen audio per calendar month, resetting on the 1st. Pro includes unlimited Listen.
The allowance is checked when you start a session. If the month is used up, another Listen session will not start until the allowance resets or the account upgrades. A session that is already running is not interrupted by this monthly allowance and may continue beyond it.
For example, a session started with remaining allowance can continue past minute 30. Once it has used the remaining monthly allowance, the next session needs a reset or Pro. This is a monthly usage budget, not a 30-minute timer that cuts off an active call.

What the session data tells us
Our duration study describes 403 GeekBye listening sessions lasting at least 20 minutes, from 112 users between May 1 and September 8, 2026. The recorded median was 36.1 minutes; 66% of this selected cohort exceeded 30 minutes.
These are app sessions. Duration alone does not confirm that each was an interview, and shorter sessions were excluded. The percentage therefore does not describe all interviews or the chance that your free allowance will run out. Your remaining allowance and earlier usage determine whether a new session can start.
Correction, September 16, 2026: an earlier version of this article included incompatible cohort totals, inconsistent conversion counts, and broader claims about interview duration. Those figures have been removed because we cannot reconcile them from the published evidence. The linked study states its own cohort and limitations; it is not a replacement for a representative industry survey.
If your interview is this week
Check your remaining monthly Listen allowance before starting a practice session or interview. If you have used it up, wait for the next reset or review Pro plans, which remove the monthly Listen allowance. Check the actual billing interval, any introductory eligibility and the renewal amount before purchasing.
