Ask helps you work from the screen context you intentionally capture and the questions you add. Video: [Ask coding demo (33 seconds)](https://geekbye.com/features/geekbye-bg-demo-compressed.mp4) — A silent example of using screen context to work through a coding question with Ask. The demo shows an earlier interface. ## Capture useful context 1. Open the question, document, or screen you want to discuss. 2. Use the screenshot shortcut to capture that context. 3. Open Ask and write a clear question about what you captured. ![Ask displays an answer alongside the screen context used for the question.](https://geekbye.com/articles/ask-feature/ask-response.png) *Ask displays an answer alongside the screen context used for the question.* ## Ask follow-up questions Use the chat to narrow an answer, request an explanation, or compare alternatives. Add the detail the answer needs rather than assuming it can see context you did not capture. ![Continue with a focused follow-up, such as asking to optimize an answer.](https://geekbye.com/articles/ask-feature/action-types.png) *Continue with a focused follow-up, such as asking to optimize an answer.* > **Tip:** Try Ask in a dry run before a real call so you know where the overlay and shortcut feel most comfortable.
